Ambos bastante diferentes.

Crimson Spell, Vol. 1

(Book #1 of Crimson Spell)

Upon wielding an ancient sword that has been passed down through his royal family for generations, Prince Vald is struck by a curse that turns him into a demon! In search of guidance, Vald appeals to the powerful sorcerer Halvi for help, and the two set out on a journey to break the curse. However, there is one thing the handsome sorcerer is keeping secret from the young prince—the raging demon that Vald turns into every night can only be calmed when Halvi satisfies his lust! And so begins their epic journey in search of clues to break the young prince’s curse.
Reads R to L (Japanese Style) for mature audiences.

John Carter: The End

Writer: Brian Woods, Alex Cox

Art: Hayden Sherman

 Cover: Juan Doe

BLURB: Centuries have passed and time has taken its toll on Mars. Conflict burns across the landscape. A war of supremacy and genocide at the hands of a brutal despot has brought the planet to the edge of collapse. A search party has finally located an aged John Carter and Dejah Thoris, living in quiet seclusion on a desert moon, in perpetual mourning for their lost son. How could they be Mars' last hope?

My rating:  2.8 stars

John Carter and Dejah Thorin after centuries , appears to becoming to the ending of a cicle in Barsoom. The wear and tear of the couple is noticeable, either for the long years, or because of the harsh living conditions on Titan. When the Martians seek their help again, the truth seems to end up leading them to final separation.

The plot seems credible, although with that output a little deus-ex-machina so suitable of the genre of science fiction. Be prepared for some surprises.

Llega el el tan esperado encuentro de la protagonista con su padre, un ser  tremendamente poderoso y que hace temblar solo con su nombre.

This is the second part of the trilogy based upon the Disney's picture where four teen children of villains that live in exile in the Isle of Lost, have the opportunity of go to school at Aralon (where the good characters of the fairytales live). The original idea was stole some magical object to release their parents, but ...

Well, the manga style of the drawing does very little to help differentiate between the protagonists of the story, and for this it detracts from all the small eccentricities that make the flesh-and-blood version of this youthful fantasy with characters of children of villains an engaging story.

I'm sorry, but it's not what I expected.

Rocky Mountain K9 Unit Series:
Run to Ground (Book 1)
On the Chase (Book 2)

My rating: 2.8 running stars

My bookshelves: netgalley, w_police-detective, contemporary-fiction,  romance, insta-lust-or-luv, accion

I do not read the previous book, but the plot is understood without any problem.

Kaylee has her dream life in California, great job, nice home, good clothes, and maybe a dream boyfriend , but then her dream come crushing down with awful reality when she sees something horrible in a party and feel that is more safe to flee frightened for her life.

I really wanted to like this book, that is, a hot cop that works with dogs, and a girl who runs away who ends up working in a kennel? Pasapacá. But the story differs somewhat from that. Unlike other readers, I would have complained a great deal more -internally- in case I had to leave behind all that had been achieved with so much effort in a matter that was not my fault. (And in my case, I would have even regretted having helped those strangers, in fact. Although the latter really were lip service.) So, I like Grace. Yes, she is not a wall flower, and acts when it count.
